just ron took the phone before he knew who was calling.
I got one of those calls and I was quite indignant how much the elder insisted that I meet with him and Bro Thinks His Farts Don't Smell.
I stood my ground and told him that I would call him back when I was ready to meet with them.
12 years later I still haven't called him back.
has you all know i was engaged to another lady before i married my wife, but part of the reason my ex and i broke up was because we couldn't get a kingdom hall wedding.
to make a long story short why is it such a big deal ?.
To be approved to have a wedding in a KH means that you are "in good standing".
If either one of the happy couple don't have that status, they won't be allowed to have the wedding in the Hall. And if they don't have the wedding in the Hall, they won't have Jahovah's blessing on the marriage. Or not as much as if it had been in the Hall.
Not having the wedding in the Hall can also cause speculation that the happy couple "did the deed" before the big day.
but it also has some wonderful information about the org and getting help and moving on.
please don't let the nitwits or my arguments with them keep you from looking at a lot of good info on this site.. peace and farewell,.

matter fact i think it's a good business move on the hotel's part and pretty darn good customer service.
after the song was finished and the chairman did his announcements initiating the noon break, i got to wondering if the wt had anything to do with these box lunches offered by the hotel.
Yeah, they used to make the same announcement about how we were supposed to go to our seats and listen to the wonderful provision of Jehovah that he provided, blah blah blah but the insistance that we all stand still got a bit much.
I think the last 2 assemblies I attended I just kept walking, instead of standing still. I was such a rebel, lol.

When I was still attending, they used to make an announcement before the session was about to begin, but before saying anything they would ask all the bros/sis to immediately stop what they were doing (usually walking) and listen.
And everyone was expected to stand absolutely still, no talking, and listen to the bro at the stage until we were told we were allowed to keep going.

so tonight after the meeting, this brother whome i've grown up with invited me to eat.
he had come almost an hour late to the meeting and looked kind of down and a bit depressed.
i agreed to go eat.. there was very little talking at first.
He sounds just like me when I'd decided that I'd had enough.
The decision to leave is a hard thing to do and you feel like you're the only one who's ever done it. It's a scary prospect.
Good for you to offer your support. There is a slight possibility that it could backfire if he got cold feet and decided to tell the elders what you said. But I doubt it though.

just think of the logistics to organise a nation of people to accomplish this venture.people who say god provided.... just dont think.. they needed food ,clothing,utensils,tents,tools,fabric,livestock,for food & sacrifice,water,space between families,sanitary facilities,etc.etc.etc.. and don`t forget a generation had to die off before they could enter the promised land.. where is the evidence for any of this.. smiddy.
